Kingbird Orchard - Etta Place Cidery
700 W. Main St., Torrey, UT 84775
Etta Place Cider (Ann & Robert) in Torrey, Utah — at the doorstep of Capitol Reef National Park. Inspired by a tree-ripened apple picked in the park's historic orchards, they moved to Torrey in spring 2012 and planted their first 50 trees. The Kingbird Orchard is a "wild experiment" of rootstocks and cultivars at 7,000' elevation; 81 cider and heritage varieties were selected for the aromatics, acidity, and tannins that distinguish an orchard-based cider. They still host annual public apple tastings at the ranch. Website lists the business as "Etta Place Cidery & Taproom"; the planting is named Kingbird Orchard. Outside the WNY focus area.
