Blue Pearmain is a medium to large apple with distinctive blue-gray coloring from its characteristic bloom, covered with large russet and gray dots. The flesh is firm and coarse with a mild subacid flavor and distinctive aromatic character. It ripens in October and stores until March, though it may shrivel after January.
