Margaret is a first-rate early dessert apple of medium size, roundish-ovate form, with greenish-yellow shaded skin and bright-red striping. The flesh is greenish-white, brisk, juicy, and vinous with a pleasant, refreshing flavor, ripening in early August but not keeping long. A very old English variety, it grows as a small, hardy tree and is well-suited for training as dwarf or espalier on paradise stock.
