Opalescent is a large, attractive apple with clear yellow skin nearly or entirely covered with brilliant red, sometimes becoming deep purplish-red in well-colored specimens. It has not been thoroughly tested in New York to determine its suitability for the region, and does not appear to keep as well as Baldwin.
