Pomme Grise is a small, russet-covered apple valued for its excellent dessert quality and juiciness. It develops particularly fine flavor when grown in the St. Lawrence valley. Though hardy and healthy, it is rarely produced profitably in large quantities for general market due to unattractive size and color, but is sometimes grown for local or special trade and recommended for home use.
