Bramleys Seedling is a large, flat-round cooking apple with greenish-yellow skin, red flush with broken stripes, and firm, juicy, pale yellow, acidic flesh. Raised by Mr. Bramley of Southwell, Nottinghamshire, and introduced by Messrs. Merryweather in 1876, it became the most popular and profitable cooking apple, prized for its vigorous growth and reliable fertility. Seasons from November to March.
