A heritage red-fleshed cider/jelly crabapple — listed as "Red Giant Cider Crab" in the Nick Botner apple collection (the orchard's provenance source). Large and tart with magenta/red flesh; makes magenta-colored jelly, gives cider a distinctive pink tint, and is used for crab-apple pie; ripens about August 1 (the only description on record, from Hidden Hollow Orchard). Its breeder, origin, and parentage are undocumented. Distinct from "Giant Crab" and "Giant Russian Crab," which are separate Botner entries.
