Empire is a dessert apple developed in Geneva, New York in 1966 from McIntosh and Red Delicious parents. It features white, juicy flesh with a subacid and tangy taste, ruby red color, and stores well at 2°C for up to 120 days. Best enjoyed fresh from October through December.
