Wealthy is a cold-hardy apple particularly valued for northern climates, featuring bright red fruit that is attractive and good for both fresh eating and cooking. The flesh is crisp, tender, and juicy with a sprightly, subacid flavor. It stores well in cold storage until January or later, and is being increasingly planted for commercial purposes across New York and other apple-growing regions.
