Fireside is a sweet, fragrant apple with yellow skin and red striping, developed in Minnesota and introduced in 1943. The flesh is coarse and juicy with a subacid flavor, making it popular in the upper Midwest for fresh eating. It stores well through April and is best harvested in early October.
