Cherry Crab
Malus ×robusta (Carrière) Rehder
Cherry is an old variety of unknown origin that grows well, especially on light soils, and produces fruit regularly. The small, oblate apples are pale yellow nearly covered with bright red striping and bloom, with crisp, juicy flesh that is mild subacid and somewhat astringent. The fruit ripens from late August through October.
