A dessert apple of medium size with bright crimson colouring on a golden-yellow ground. The flesh is crisp, greenish, and very sweet with a distinctive pleasant strawberry flavour. Originating from Swan Pool near Worcester in 1874, it became an esteemed market variety with reliable crops and is improved when allowed to ripen fully.
