Merton Worcester is a dessert apple developed at John Innes Institute in England from a deliberate cross between Cox's Orange Pippin and Worcester Pearmain. Selected in 1935 and introduced in 1948, it received an RHS Award of Merit in 1950 and is suitable for fresh eating with a picking period in early September.
