Katy is an early-season dessert apple developed in Sweden with red skin and pale cream flesh. It was deliberately bred in 1947, selected in 1955, and introduced in 1966, making it well-suited to Northern European growing conditions. The fruit is picked in early September and maintains eating quality through early October.
