A very large, roundish apple with ribbed sides, yellow skin marked with russet and red streaking. The flesh is firm, yellow, with a brisk, sugary, high-flavored taste. It is a good culinary apple in use during September and October, grown from an old French variety first recorded in England by Rea in 1665, supposedly originating from the village of Rembures in Picardy. The tree is vigorous and productive.
