Jakob Lebel is a very large French cooking and juice apple from Amiens, first developed in 1825 and introduced in 1849. It features soft, juicy flesh with subacid to acidic flavor and weighs approximately 185 grams. The variety stores well at cold temperatures and is harvested in mid-September for use through December.
