A highly esteemed summer apple, probably a seedling from the English Summer Pearmain. Medium-sized, oblong fruit with red and yellow striped skin ripens gradually from August to late September. The flesh is yellow, remarkably tender, with a rich and pleasant flavor, often bursting when it falls from the tree. Tree is moderately vigorous with a round head.
