Blenheim Orange is a medium to fairly large, flattened apple with yellow skin flushed and striped with dull red and russet. Featuring crisp, yellow flesh with a characteristic sub-acid flavour, it stores from November to January and is one of the finest all-round apples, cooking excellently and of superior quality and texture for dessert. Raised at Woodstock near Blenheim by Mr. Kempster around 1818, it became widely cultivated in the London neighbourhood and beyond.
