Tinmouth
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dual Purpose
Tinmouth is a medium to large fall and early winter apple of good quality and attractive appearance with pale yellow or greenish skin often displaying a bright deep blush. The flesh is whitish-tinged yellow, tender, juicy, and mild subacid with a sprightly flavor. The tree is a vigorous grower with upright habit and regular, productive cropping, though it does not appear suitable for general commercial planting in New York and remains little known outside its region of origin in Vermont.
