A beautiful red dessert apple of good size with tender, juicy, aromatic flesh of excellent quality. It ripens in late autumn and early winter (prime in November), but does not keep well in ordinary storage beyond November; cold storage may preserve it until March or later. The tree is below medium size, rather tender, and commonly a biennial cropper; it is desirable for home orchards but not recommended for commercial planting.
