A medium-sized, roundish-oval dessert apple covered with numerous knobs and thick scaly russet skin. The flesh is yellowish, crisp, sweet, and highly flavored, though not very juicy. In use from December to March, it was introduced to the London Horticultural Society in 1819 by Mr. Haslar Capron of Midhurst, Sussex.
