Dual Purpose
A large, ovate apple with greenish-yellow and crimson-streaked skin, white tender flesh, and a pleasant aromatic flavor. Suitable for both culinary and dessert use, in season from September to December. The tree is vigorous, hardy, and a good bearer; introduced to England by Mr. Lee in 1817, though it had been grown near Twickenham fifty years prior under the name Phoenix Apple.
