A late autumn to early winter apple of good size with pale waxen yellow or greenish skin and mild subacid flavor. The flesh is tender, crisp, and fine-grained, suitable for fresh eating though it loses character when cooked. Beach notes it is easily excelled by standard varieties of its season and is not recommended for planting in New York.
