Pomona is a medium to large English apple, frequently attractive when highly colored with crimson mottling and striping over pale yellow. The flesh is crisp, tender and juicy with a subacid, sprightly flavor suitable for cooking. Beach notes it is not recommended for commercial planting in New York, as the fruit is easily bruised and does not keep well.
