An old Pennsylvania variety with attractive red and yellow fruit of medium to large size and good uniformity. The flesh is firm, crisp, juicy, and mild subacid, though inferior in overall quality to Baldwin. Valued primarily for market appeal; acceptable for both dessert and culinary uses, but now of historical interest only.
