A medium-sized, conical culinary apple with pale yellow skin and brownish-red on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is yellowish-white, delicate, very juicy, with a sweet and briskly acid flavor. In season from October to January, the tree is hardy, vigorous, and a good bearer; this is a very old variety first mentioned by Ray and cultivated in London nurseries since at least 1670.
