Bethlehemite
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dual Purpose
Bethlehemite is an apple of the Newtown Spitzenburg type, but inferior in size and color. When well grown, it reaches good to very good quality for both dessert and culinary uses, though quality development is inconsistent. It is little known in New York and not recommended for planting there.
