A large apple of English origin, introduced to America by W. G. Waring of Pennsylvania and recorded by Downing in 1869. The fruit has yellowish skin with striped and splashed dull red coloring, white juicy flesh, and a pleasant subacid flavor rated good to very good. Season is November to December.
