Bonum is a southern apple of very good quality, best suited to warmer regions and not well adapted to northern climates like New York. The medium to large fruit is golden yellow largely covered with crimson and dark red striping, with white tender flesh that is aromatic, mild subacid, and very good for dessert. It ripens from September to November.
