Yellow Newtown Pippin
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
A large, roundish, angled apple with deep straw-colored skin and fine grey russet markings. The flesh is yellowish, crisp, juicy, and slightly sub-acid with an agreeable flavor. A first-rate dessert apple in use from December to March that ripens better in the UK climate than the standard Newtown Pippin.
