A small, cylindrical dessert apple with smooth golden-yellow skin tinged deeper yellow on the sun-exposed side, marked with small pink spots. The flesh is yellow, firm, crisp, and delicate with brisk, highly flavored vinous juice. Commercially cultivated in UK in 1851; in season September–October.
