A medium-sized, roundish-ovate culinary apple with dark green skin covered by dull brownish-red on the sun-facing side. The flesh is greenish-white, firm, crisp, and pleasantly brisk. It remains in use from January to May and is grown extensively in Norfolk for local markets, bearing some resemblance to the London Pippin but without its tendency to yellow with keeping.
