Winter Banana is a large, pale yellow apple with a distinctive pinkish-red blush that is attractive and characteristically aromatic. It has mild, sweet dessert quality but lacks the acidity needed for cooking. The fruit stores well through December in ordinary storage and ranks with Rhode Island Greening in cold storage, making it suitable for commercial use to extend the season after Maiden Blush.
