Sweet and Sour
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dual Purpose
A curious variety with an unusual characteristic: individual apples and even different parts of the same apple vary in taste from sour to sweet, with no consistent pattern. The fruit is above medium to large, oblate and slightly unsymmetrical, with green and yellow coloring similar to Rhode Island Greening. Though vigorous and productive, it is propagated mainly as a curiosity with limited commercial value.
