A dessert apple of below-medium size with lively green skin covered in brown russet and dull red on the sunny side, resembling the Nonpareil. The flesh is yellow, firm, crisp, and very juicy with a brisk, rich, sugary flavor. Widely regarded as the most valuable dessert apple of its season, perfecting from February to June and remaining desirable long after the Ribston Pippin.
