Scollop Gilliflower
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dessert
An old variety of unknown origin, formerly grown in New York and Ohio but now practically obsolete. The fruit is medium to large, roundish conical and much ribbed, with light yellow flesh striped and splashed with red, firm, crisp, and juicy with a mildly subacid, aromatic, and rich flavor. It ripens from November to February, about a month or more later than Striped Gilliflower.
