Saint Lawrence
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dessert
St. Lawrence is a large, handsome apple better suited to dessert than culinary use, though it does not excel standard varieties of its season. The fruit ripens unevenly and requires multiple pickings; it does not store well in ordinary conditions (usually only until October) but can be held until December in cold storage. The tree is moderately vigorous, hardy, and a reliable biennial cropper, but the variety cannot be recommended for general cultivation.
