May Queen is a small-fruited dessert apple with golden-yellow skin flushed with brown-red and russet. The flesh is very crisp, yellow, juicy, and of good flavour, remaining edible from November through May. Raised by Mr. Haywood of Worcester and introduced by Messrs. Penwill, this neglected fruit is ideally suited for small gardens grown as cordons or bushes due to its extraordinary fertility and very dwarf growth habit.
