A late-season dessert apple raised at Burghley House by the Marquis of Exeter, distributed in 1865. Small, flattened and somewhat irregular, with pale greenish-yellow skin flushed with clear brown-red. The flesh is firm, yellow, juicy and sweet, making it one of the finest late dessert varieties.
