A late-season dessert apple with golden-yellow skin flushed crimson, firm yellow flesh, and very juicy texture with pleasant flavor. Introduced around 1877 by Pastor Henzen in Germany and named after pomologist Heusgen, it remains a valuable addition to late dessert varieties with compact, upright growth and remarkable fertility.
