Ecklinville is a culinary apple of Irish origin, raised at Ecklinville around 1820 by gardener Logan. Fairly large, round-flattened fruits with pea-green to yellow skin and occasional red flush mature September to November. The tender white flesh is acidic, making it an excellent cooker that darkens when baked, though it may canker in some soils.
