Blenheim Pippin
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dual Purpose
Blenheim Pippin is a large, globular apple with yellow skin tinged and streaked with red, crisp juicy flesh, and a pleasant sweet-acid balance. Suitable for both dessert and culinary use, it is in season November to February. Originally discovered at Woodstock in Oxfordshire near Blenheim Park, it was first cultivated in London nurseries around 1818 and is now extensively grown, though the tree is notably slow to bear when young.
