Dual Purpose
A very old English culinary apple, above medium size with pale greenish-yellow skin and a few reddish streaks. Firm, juicy, and well-flavored, it keeps from October to January. The tree is hardy, vigorous, and a good bearer. Known to Parkinson as early as 1629 but lost to cultivation until rediscovered by George Lindley at Gatton near Norwich.
