Swaar
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dessert
Swaar is a large American dessert apple with good size and form, though not very attractive in color, valued for its rich flavor and fine quality. The fruit is yellowish-green to yellow, firm, and aromatic with mild subacid taste. The tree is moderately vigorous but somewhat tender, requiring deep, rich soil and susceptible to canker and winter injury; it has a reputation as a shy or biennial bearer with variable season extending from November to April.
