1 / 3Sanspareil
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dual Purpose
Sanspareil is a dual-purpose apple with a round-conical form, orange-yellow skin with brilliant scarlet flush and stripes, and crisp, sweet, aromatic yellow flesh. It stores well until April without shrivelling and has been cultivated in Britain for at least thirty years by Bunyard's 1920 account. A compact, fertile tree of unknown origin that deserves wider recognition as a valuable late-keeping sort.
