Paul Imperial

A September crabapple cross of Red Astrachan and Siberian Crab, introduced by Paul and Son of Cheshunt, England. The fruit is small to medium with irregular shape, yellow ground covered in dark red with blue bloom. The flesh is firm, crisp, and juicy with a brisk subacid flavor, though less attractive in appearance and inferior in quality to similar crabapple varieties like Martha and Hyslop.
