Northern Greening is an excellent culinary apple of first-rate quality, medium-sized with smooth green skin tinged with brownish-red on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is greenish-white, tender, crisp, and juicy with a brisk, somewhat vinous flavor. It is in use from November to April, produced by a vigorous and abundantly bearing tree.
