Malinda is a hardy apple of above-medium to large size with a sharply conical form and rich yellow skin with dull red blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, firm, and juicy with very mild subacid flavor and a sweet aftertaste, though the overall quality is fair. It originated in Orange County, Vermont and was introduced to Minnesota around 1860, proving hardy in cold regions when grafted on hardy rootstocks but not recommended for New York cultivation unless hardiness is essential.
