A large golden-yellow dessert apple heavily splashed with scarlet stripes, ripening August to September. The flesh is tender, juicy, and deliciously flavoured. Raised by Mr. Jacobs of Petworth and introduced by George Bunyard & Co. in 1885; it has subsequently sported into a paler, slightly russet form.
