Jones' Seedling
Malus domestica Borkh. Borkh.
Dual Purpose
Allison is a medium to above-medium winter apple of Tennessee origin. The fruit has an oblate form with greenish skin faintly blushed and splashed with dull red, heavily marked with russet patches. The flesh is greenish-white, firm, and moderately juicy with a mild subacid to nearly sweet flavor; Beach notes it performs better in southern latitudes than in New York, and considers it only fair in quality when grown in New York conditions.
